| The
Ark of the Covenant Strategy Tips |
|
Move the Ark of the Covenant
If you place a tile and have no strategic reason to place
one of your meeples (wooden figures) to take ownership of
a new city, road, temple or field, you can move the Ark up
to 5 spaces. Any meeple that it passes is worth one point
to that player. By controlling where the Ark stays during
the game, you can get points on almost every turn.

Listen
to the Prophet
As part of the Ark of the Covenant, players can play a prophet
(the biggest wooden figure) in one city during the game. The
Prophet will double the score of that city when the city is
closed out. Don't forget to use this prophet during the game
- some people like to use it early to make sure they have enough
time to complete the Prophet's city. Doubling your score can
put you out to an early lead that might be difficult for your
opponents to overcome. |

Play Defense
Many players focus only on their own efforts to complete
roads, cities and temples. You can get great advantage over
your opponent by placing tiles strategically to reduce their
odds of being able to complete their building project. For
example, there is a tile that is entirely made up of city,
which would require the city to be closed on four sides. By
adding this to an opponent's city, you make it much more difficult
for that player to complete the city.
